I am trying to use a SharePoint list as an input into a data driven subscription. Running 64bit enterprise version of sql and moss). The Enesys data extension is not showing in the Step 2 - Create a data-driven subscription, of the data driven subscription wizard on the report server in the Connection Type dropdown I checked the .config file etc….any hints?

Quite strange. No problem here:

Besides this problem, can you confirm that you are able to run reports relying on Enesys RS Data Extension from your report server?

AHA, the report runs fine in BIDS, but cannot be deployed, I get this error:

Error 5 An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'ERSDE2008' that is not registered for this report server. c:\projects\salesreports\salesreports\emailsSharepoint.rdl 0 0

I will email the rsreportserver.config and rssrvpolicy.config to support email. Please check to see what maybe missing .

I seem to be having the same issue.  RS Data Extension is not listed under Connection Type in Reporting Server.  I cannot run any reports there.  Everything works fine the Visual Studio.

Error:

An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'ERSDE2008' that is not registered for this report server. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)

Hi,

Things to check are :

  • Ensure that 'Enesys.ReportingServices.Ersde2008.dll' (x64 or x86 depending on your environment) or is in the proper reportserver bin folder.
  • Ensure that 'Enesys.ReportingServices.Ersde2008.dll' inherits NTFS permissions from the bin folder (When moving a file to a folder within the same NTFS partition, the folder or file will retains its original permissions which may cause problem for Reporting Services to invoke the extension).
  • Have a look at report server latest log file which should provide some information on why it could not invoke the extension.

If none of this could help, please send us your server config files (rsreportserver.config and rssrvpolicy.config) as well as the latest report server log file (one where you can see some error related to our extension even if it does not make sense - most of the time it will be related to permissions).

Frédéric,

I have installed the extension on my local machine and it works just fine.  Installing the extension on a sharepoint integreated site does not list the extension in the connection type.

Here's a screenshot:

Are there any special considerations to be taken into account when installing in sharepoint integrated mode?

Please ignore my previous statement above; we have worked out the issue ourselves.  Seems like the dll got corrupted while being copied to the bin folder.

Thank you.
