Hi Enesys guys,
First of all, thanks for putting together a product that can pull SharePoint list data into Reporting Services. :)
I am currently running WSS v3, SQL 2005 RS, and the SSRS Add-in for SharePoint. I also have the RS Data Connection utility configured.
After walking through the sample, "Building a report showing graphical stats from a SharePoint Issues List", I am able to preview a report in Visual Studio, using a customized Issues SharePoint list.
When I upload the related .rdl and shared data connection to SharePoint, I get a message indicating that "the data connection cannot be found".
I am new to Reporting Services and am using a virtual machine that someone else created for testing SharePoint migrations...
Can you let me know if there is something specific I can do or check on to resolve my shared data connection issue?
Please let me know if there is additional information that I can provide.
Thanks, Chris Edwards

Hi Chris, Can you confirm that you installed the specific server config files as described in the documentation?

Hi Frederic,
Yes, I believe I installed the server config. files as described. I will have to double-check on my next time configuring though. I was working with a virtual machine that I no longer have access to...
I built a new virtual machine and have been successfully using the Enesys RS Data Extension (v1.3) along with standard SSRS (no SP2 Add-in for SSRS). I plan to set up the SP2 add-in on this virtual machine and would like to know if there is anything special that I need to do (or be aware of) when using RS Data Extension with the SP2 Add-in for SSRS.
Thanks again, Chris

Hi Chris, Sharepoint integration mode (provided with SP2) is currently being evaluated but I guess there should not be anything special to do to make it work if the report server is working properly with ERSDE. I'll come back to you as soon as I have more informations.

Hi Chris, I configured Reporting Services in SharePoint Integration Mode and had no problems to make it work with Enesys RS Data Extension. ERSDE installation or configuration is exactly the same whatever the Reporting Services mode (native or Sharepoint Integration).

Hi Frederic,
Thanks for the follow up. I have reports based on RS Data Extension working with SharePoint Integration Mode now.
Here is something I noticed....
I configured RS Data Extension and made it work in Native mode.... Then I installed SQL Server 2005 SP2, followed by the SSRS SharePoint Add-in. I had to go back to the RSReportServer.config file to reapply the RS Data Extension configuration changes.
It looks like SP2 overwrites the RSReportServer.config file.
Thanks again, Chris

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I had first configure SP2 install before installing ERSDE. By the way this integration is great from a report management perspective. I believe it will make ERSDE an even more interesting tool.
By the way, ERSDE V1.4.1 is available on the Customer Downloads page. A bug was discovered with the Union operator. We apologize for any inconvenience.
