Enesys RS Data Extension 2.0, our data processing extension that lets you build Reporting Services reports over SharePoint lists, has been officialy released.

Compatibility

As stated in our previous annoncements, Enesys RS Data Extension 2 is not compatible anymore with Microsoft Reporting Services 2000 and will only install on Reporting Services 2005. We have also dropped support for SharePoint 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services V2 though some features may continue to work with those versions.

Enesys RS Data Extension 2 has been developped with SharePoint 2007 (MOSS 2007 & WSS V3) as the target platform.

New features

  • New rowLimit attribute for returning the first items from a list.
  • Schema files are provided for intellisense and validation support.
  • Support for SharePoint 2007 recurring events options as well as events exceptions.
  • relativeSiteUrl attribute for the list element may be now specified using a report parameter.
  • Support for retrieving items from a specific folder.
  • Possibility to specify a custom separator for multiple values columns.
  • Possibility to expand multiple values columns so that it is now possible to group on this column using the report designer.
  • Possibility to specify a sort order for the "Distinct" operation.
  • Possibility to roll-up lists within an entire site collection.
  • Possibility to retrieve list collection, list permissions, web permissions and SharePoint groups from a site or a set of sites.
  • Xml comments are now supported within queries.
  • Improved error checking and more meaningful errors returned.
  • Compatibility with 64bits version of Reporting Services 2005. 
  • Improved documentation.
