If you would like to run reports using Windows Integrated Security, that is using the credentials of the user running the report for retrieving SharePoint lists, you will most probably need to use Kerberos instead of NTLM for both your SharePoint and Reporting Services installations.

Improving report performance with item versions

Retrieving item versions is a time consuming operation. While working with a customer that needed a report (including comments history) for exporting data to excel, we could find a workaround that greatly improved the overall performance of the report.
